Dr. Bridges is currently the Medical Director of the Radiation Oncology Department at SGMC at the Aquilino Center. Dr. Bridges is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and completed his Radiation Oncology Residency training at the National Cancer Institute, Walter Reed Army Medical Center, and the National Naval Medical Center - Bethesda. He served on Active duty in the U.S Navy for 28 years. During his last 6 years of military service he served as Medical Director/Department Head of the Radiation Oncology Department of what is now the Walter Reed National Medical Center. He also served as the Radiation Oncology adviser to Surgeons General of the Navy and served on the FDA Adviser panel for radiation oncology drugs. Although he treats all types of cancer, his areas of focused interest have been Genitourinary Cancers (particularly prostate) and Lymphomas. He has been involved in multiple clinical trials. Over his career he has participated in the treatment of over 4000 prostate cancer patients and has conducted over 1500 radioactive seed implants of the prostate gland. He was again recently selected as "Top Doc" in the most recent edition of Washington Magazine.
