Lawrence P. Shombert, M.D. is a Board Certified Radiation Oncologist practicing at the Richard A. Henson Cancer Center, part of Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury and Berlin, Maryland since 2011.
Dr. Shombert completed his internship and residency in Therapeutic Radiology at Cooper Hospital/University Medical Center, Camden New Jersey. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey- Robert Wood Johnson at Camden. He received his B.S. degree in Biology from Haverford College.
Dr. Shombert's membership in professional organizations includes the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO), American College of Radiology (ACR), American College of Radiation Oncology (ACRO) (Fellow), American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), American Cancer Society and American Medical Association. He is a member of Med Chi, the State Medical Society and also a member of the Wicomico County Medical Society. In addition to serving in all capacities on the executive board of the Prince Georges County Medical Society, he has also served on the Board of the Prince Georges County Division of the American Cancer Society. Prior to arriving at the Richard A. Henson Cancer Center, Dr. Shombert practiced in Prince Georges County since 1997. His interests include lung cancer, prostate cancer, gynecological cancer and GI cancer. He has experience in IMRT, IGRT, stereotactic radiosurgery, stereotactic ablative radiation therapy and brachytherapy, including both low-dose and high-dose brachytherapy.
