Meet Dr. Amar Rewari

Amar Rewari, M.D., M.B.A.

Dr. Amar Rewari is a board-certified radiation oncologist with the Associates in Radiation Medicine physician practice and sees patients at Adventist HealthCare Radiation Oncology Centers in Rockville and Germantown, Maryland. Dr. Rewari graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Temple University. He received a M.D. / M.B.A. from Yale University and completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Yale Hospital. Dr. Rewari served his residency at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Rutgers University, during which he was named Chief Resident, received the Dean’s Research Award and the American Society for Radiation Oncology’s highest award for clinical research.  Dr. Rewari is trained to treat all forms of cancer using the latest radiation therapy techniques including Image Guided Radiation therapy and HDR Brachytherapy for Breast, Prostate, and Gynecologic cancers. He received additional training at Harvard Medical School, The Royal Marsden, and UT-Southwestern in Proton Therapy, Head & Neck IMRT, and Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy.  Dr. Rewari has authored several scientific publications and received numerous honors for his research in head & neck and breast cancer. In addition, Dr. Rewari was awarded several grants to present his research findings at international meetings, i.e. ASCO, ASTRO, and ARS, as an invited speaker. He is actively involved in national healthcare reform and is a current Health Policy Fellow for the American Society for Radiation Oncology.
