Meet Dr. Heather Lee

Heather Lee, MD

I am a board-certified radiation oncologist specializing in the treatment of a spectrum of adult cancers. My goal is to introduce the most cutting-edge technology in radiation oncology including intensity-modulated radiation therapy, image-guided radiation therapy and high dose rate brachytherapy treatments with the intent of reducing toxicity and improving results from radiation therapy. I am interested in maintaining quality of life throughout the course of treatments as well as afterwards.

I am involved in several multidisciplinary tumor boards where I frequently collaborate with my colleagues in medical oncology and surgery to determine the optimal overall plan of treatment for our patients. I find it rewarding to work with a team who couples expertise with compassion to treat cancer patients. I have an amazing staff who makes each person who comes through our clinic for treatment feel like they are part of our family. It is truly an honor to serve the amazing people who live in our community.

Education: I went to Massachusetts Institute of Technology for an bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering. I attended New York University School of Medicine for medical school where I met my husband. I trained at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia for my residency in radiation oncology. I then moved to the metropolitan D.C. area where I have practicing ever since.

Personal Interests: Playing piano, soccer mom, running around after 3 rambunctious kids
